FSTAR was developed as an outcome of the growth in fire service research. After starting with a focus on fire dynamics, FSTAR has now broadened its approach to include all fire service research, such as the emerging research uncovering the complexities of maintaining firefighter health and wellness. Read the International Association of Fire Chiefs’ official FSTAR release.

FSTAR is focusing its efforts on creating Featured Studies, research studies specifically selected to undergo a more vigorous process that results in additional tools and materials to help departments and firefighters maximize their use of research outcomes.
