Free Training at FSTAR Townhall in Boston

The Boston Fire Department, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) are partnering to present a FSTAR Townhall.

The townhall is a one-day training event focused on modern fire behavior research, science and the tactical considerations that can be used to reduce risk to firefighters operating on structure fires.

There will be two training sessions, Wednesday, November 4 and Thursday, November 5, each running 9am-4pm (Eastern). The Thursday session will be a repeat of the first day. Each session is open to the fire service at no cost to the attendee. Lunch for both days will be provided courtesy of the Gary Sinise Foundation.

There will be three speakers: Dan Madrzykowski of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Chief Peter Van Dorpe of Algoquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District, and Chief (Retired) Cecil Clay of the Oklahoma City Fire Department.
